The thing that made me most sad about leaving Florida was that we had to leave Nonna. She is your great grandmother and you adored her... and she ADORED you, too. It was so nice getting to know her, "grandpa" Bill, Kristi and Teri. They were all people we knew as family but just in our year in Florida were we able to really love and appreciate them. During Auntie Sunny's visit we knew that our "any"time with them was coming to an end. So we were sure to see them every week in August before we left to NM.
One afternoon was spent at Chuck-e-Cheese. You kids obviously loved that! We gave you tokens and you took off and played, played, played. I think you and Daddy played together most of the time. Daddy is such a big kid at heart ;-).
While you played, the adults talked.
Nonna has a deep love for babies. Like she adored you, she was also in love with little Christian.
...As were you.
You had a tendency to cover him in unwanted kisses and touch him when he really just wanted you to leave him alone. As you two grow older though, I'm SO excited to see your friendship develop.
I had to get a picture with my sister! Didn't we look so beautiful?
The picture below is one of my favorites. First, because I LOVE Nonna's expression. It is a total overview of how Nonna is. She is sweet, oblivious. and a simple joy to everyone... especially me! Second, I love Kristi laughing in the background-- I can hear her little giggle just by looking at this picture lol. And third, there is my beautiful sister... and that face would complete any picture.
We also go to spend some time at the splash park. Florida has these things all around-- they're free, community parks that instead of slides and swings has toys that spit water in every direction so you can cool off on a hot summer day. They're super cool!
Then, there was the day that Nonna came to visit us in Pinellas Park and she did what she's known best for-- She brought PRESENTS! We decided it would be fun to celebrate all of the kids birthdays at once since we were all together. We could do that with a June, July and 2 September birthdays. And it was so fun! You guys opened your gifts then we headed to the park to play and eat cake. Could it get any better than that?
We sang "Happy Birthday" to each one of you...
You love your Nonna! And she is what I miss most about Florida. I'm so glad you know her.
Love you,
Mom
