Auntie Sunny Comes to Visit: Flood, Ihop, and Hallie Get's Sick

Auntie Sunny's visit was full of fun and games but it also had a few "downer" moments.  In fact, many of our big weekend plans were cancelled because HORRIBLE stuff kept happening during the weekends.
One weekend, daddy stayed up to work while everyone else went to bed.  I was sleeping sweetly when your Daddy rushed into the room and said in a panic, "THE APARTMENT IS FLOODING!"
Augh!  I sprung out of bed to find the entire floor covered in about an inch of water.  I quietly crept into Auntie Sunny's room to find that her room was also flooded.  So I woke her up.  For a few minutes the adults kind of just stood around staring at each other in shock.  It was 3am!!!

Daddy called maintenance just to find out that they would be bringing vacuums to suck out all the water and that it would, indeed, wake up all the children's.  It would basically be the longest night of our lives!  So at 3am, we woke all you kids up.   While Daddy waited for maintenance, Auntie Sunny and I took the rest of you out for a car ride.  Our original intention was to find a hotel room but with only a few hours left til sunlight, we knew it would be near impossible to get you guys to sleep in a single hotel room.  You'd all be too darn excited.  So we ended up at Ihop.  I sure hope no one was judging us for having kids out so late (or early) because believe me, it wasn't exactly at the top of our bucket list.  Luckily, you guys are all such champs and were probably more friendly than me!

(I must've gone to sleep in my workout clothes... Oops.)

Then, the next weekend, was spent in disarray again.  It turns out that Hallie has asthma and it flared up one night.  She couldn't breathe!  We ended up in the ER for a few hours.  Poor little Hallie bug-- and poor Auntie Sunny.  I know it couldn't have been easy for Auntie Sunny to be dealing with all the good AND bad of the trip all by herself.  She's one awesome woman!  As you can see though, Hallie quickly returned to being her happy self.

This was all a good likeness to our Heavenly Father's plan for us.
We know that there must be opposition in all things.  I'd have to say though, there were many more joyful moments during Auntie Sunny's stay than these scary and tiresome ones.  And that's just like life!  We will experience the bitter and the sweet.  And knowing the bitter sure makes life a lot more sweet!
Ha! Love you little Champ,
Mom
