Auntie Sunny Comes to Visit: Disney World!

You, my dear, were fortunate enough to visit Disney World several times in your early years of life. Before moving to Florida, I had only been to Disney twice. In your whole 2 years of life, you went to Disney 3 times (I think). Auntie Sunny's visit required a trip to Disney and knowing that it would be the last time we would visit for awhile we tried to make it super special.  We got 2 nights in the Nickelodeon hotel down the road from Disney.  You love Dora the Explorer and thought that this would be a lot of fun! ... And it was.  Our room's balcony had a view of the pool/waterpark.

The room was a 2- bedroom with seperate living room that had a pull-out couch.  Me, you and Daddy got to stay in the master bedroom... Auntie Sunny & Christian stayed in the living room... Emma and Hallie each had their own bed in the second bedroom which had this mural on the wall:
.  So cool, right?
Our first night in Orlando was spent in Downtown Disney.  This was the first time our family had visited this part of Disney World and it was great.  There is no admission fee but there are so many sights to see and even shows!  It was just has good as visiting one of the theme parks (minus the rides, of course). Although I'm not entering the pictures into this post, I have to write down some memories from this night.  We walked and walked and walked to find something to eat.  I'm pretty sure we walked at least a total of 4 miles that night. We wanted to eat at Rainforest Cafe (which was at the opposite end of Downtown Disney).  When we got there, it was a 2 hour wait!  ...Yeah right!  So, we ended up eating at.... well, I don't remember but it was still delicious!  Afterwards we stopped for ice cream at a Ghiradelli shop.  Yum!  At this point, it had begun to get dark and even sprinkle a little bit.  But there was a show right outisde of the ice cream shop.  So we sat on wet benches, ate our ice cream (and brownies), and enjoyed a show that all you kids were impressed by.  After the show we walked a little further and heard a live band playing.  You girls immediately ran out right in front of the band with your newly bought light up bubble guns and danced your hearts out.  You had pure joy on your faces.  And you certainly looked up to your older cousins and imitated their every move.  It was a blast!

We got back to our hotel room and went to bed immediately because we knew that the next day would surely be a loooong and exhausting one.
Before I forget... Auntie Sunny and I decided to make you girls your "princess" attire for Disney Day.  We made sparkly tutus and bought princess shirts to go with them.  We made the tutus before going to Orlando and when we finished it looked like a fairy godmother and thrown up glitter all over my living room.  We left the glitter on the floor for you guys to find and it was hilarious to see the bottoms of your feet become covered in twinkly colors.  Needless to say, all that sparkle was confirmation that the tutus were certainly a Princess success.
So... onto Disney Day.  You kiddos woke up, we dressed you in your sparkly tutus and got lots of pictures before leaving the hotel room (ya know, when everyone looked their best).

We got on a bus that took us straight to the ferry for magic kingdom and before you know it we were in the middle of Disney Magic!!!!
Castles, shops to meet every desire, and characters of all sorts lined the streets of the kingdom.  And right upon our entry was a parade.  Hallie was thrilled to see her all time favorite-- Minnie Mouse.

We were able to ride several different rides including a Toy Story Ride:

A Winnie the Pooh ride:
We also rode "It's a Small World," "Dumbo," a Magic Carpet ride, etc....
And we ate LOTS of goodies.  We saw many princesses and even got to meet one!  We met Merida from Brave!!!  Remember, Brave was the first movie you ever saw in theaters.

It was such a busy day and I'm sad that I've already forgotten so many of the details.  Even if I could remember more, I'm not sure I'd be ABLE to write it all down.  I can say though, that we stayed all day long.  We stayed until the end of the night when the fireworks were flying off in every direction.  We were making last minute stops to buy souvenirs and rushing towards the exit gates to try and beat the big rush of people.  That didn't stop people from stepping on my heels from behind.  One lady and I even started yelling at each other for a bit.  That's how you know the adults are DONE! Oops.
When all was said and done, we had FUN!
The next day we spent some time at our hotel waterpark and even got SLIMED.  So cool!
I wish you were old enough to remember all these moments by yourself because they're certainly treasured within my own heart.  But I promise they don't end here.  We'll have lots of adventures together.  This is only the beginning.
